Eat Smart is a deliciously healthy cookbook with lots of easy vegan meals. The meals are all natural and plant-based which boosts your energy and health.
Niomi Smart is the author of this lovely book; Niomi is mostly known from YouTube where she talks about everything fitness, beauty and lifestyle. I found out about this book through her YouTube channel; I love Niomi and watching her videos. Niomi is so inspirational and the lifestyle she leads is one I admire as she is so fit and active.
I have really enjoyed making some of Niomi’s recipes; they are so easy to follow. I am not a cook; I either burn things or undercook them lol… but this recipe book is so simple to follow and gives you lots of tips. I never used to enjoy cooking, I always felt it was just so long to do but recently I have found it fun and rewarding.
Eat Smart is a vegan cookbook and I know what some people are thinking… “It won’t taste nice”… “It’s Rabbit food” and I will admit I was sceptical at first but actually looking through the book there are some tasty recipes in there that you wouldn’t have thought to be vegan the only change is the ingredients. Niomi has always said that she doesn’t really like classing herself “Vegan” because of all the judgement put over it; she likes to say she’s on a “Plant-based diet” and that is basically all the recipes are. The ingredients are all natural and plant based which is extremely healthy for you and surprisingly tasty! Healthy eating can be difficult sometimes especially when there is so much fast food around that is so easy just to grab but Niomi’s recipes are simple and can even be done overnight so all you have to do is eat it in the morning. I know some people think vegan food and ingredients are hard to find and expensive but all the things I have made so far have been from my local Tesco and not that expensive. Some ingredients are expensive I’m not going to sugar coat the truth but these tend to be the little ingredients that will last you a long time and are good for you; so if you know you are going to use them then they are worth the investment.
Some of my favourite things to make are the smoothie bowls which are so easy and tasty plus make a very cute Instagram picture lol. Homemade lemonade; so refreshing and incredibly healthy ingredients so it doesn’t make me feel quite so guilty drinking a lot of it lol. Plus many more which I will put pictures up to show you. I mean if I can make these things then anyone can because I am not a good cook at all but I am learning.
I’m not vegan nor vegetarian but have really loved making some things from “Eat Smart” and I will continue to. I love the idea of a plant-based diet mainly for all the benefits it has from making your hair grow and be nice and shiny to have a healthy complexion, I think it’s a really good thing to do and will benefit you in the long run. I just don’t think I can give up beef burgers or chicken nuggets just yet lol… but one day I will. I’m slowly trying to become a lot healthier; I have started going to the gym (I know I couldn’t believe it either lol) and have signed up for a monthly subscription of sourced box (which is Niomi’s monthly healthy supply of snacks) which I might do a blog about when I have had a couple of boxes to see what I think of them. I am a snacker so a monthly supply of healthy snacks seemed a good idea… Thank you, Niomi, once again!
I am not jumping straight into the whole healthy lifestyle just yet but I am doing a few things to change my lifestyle around and so far I’m feeling very positive about it! It’s not as hard as you think trying to be healthy; even if you’re just changing a few things in your diet it can make a big difference. Just take it easy and do your research; do what’s best for you. Check out “Eat Smart” by Niomi Smart and see what you think; I think you will be surprised because I defiantly was!
