The choices we make, make us who we are. That doesn’t mean all choices define us as we all make bad choices sometimes, that’s just life, but as long as we learn from them we get a lot wiser.
If your unhappy with a choice you have made then change it. It may be hard but you can’t just sit feeling sorry for yourself as that is unhealthy and just admitting defeat. You are the only one that can make you happy and partly that is down to the decisions you make. If your feeling lonely call up a friend or a family member and have a nice chat or arrange to meet. Don’t just sit there waiting for someone else to make the first move, you have to do it sometimes. If your bored and no ones around then do things you like; read a book, go on a walk or even take yourself off somewhere. It’s sometimes scary doing things on your own but its a way you grow and find yourself. You need to be comfortable on your own and in your own skin, it’s so important and once you have mastered that you will feel so much better and confident. A lot of confident people are confident because they have learnt to be themselves and accept it. Its hard but once you have done that, you are untouchable.
A healthy lifestyle is one I have been trying to maintain; now this doesn’t just mean fitness and healthy eating it also means a healthy mind. A healthy mind is so important because without that the rest is a lot harder. Your mind is a powerful thing and can control you if you let it. A positive mind will in able you to live a happier lifestyle. Now to get a positive mind isn’t that hard, however, it is just training your mind not to think negatively. Now that can be hard if you have had a negative mind frame for a while. Here are some tips I have learnt…
- Stay away from negative people! This is number 1! You can’t have a positive mind if the people around you are negative. It just doesn’t work. Even if it’s a family member or friend you have to separate yourself from that because it’s poisonous. It’s hard and not that straightforward but if they care about you they will understand. If not then they really aren’t worth your time.
- Social media: I love social media some may say I’m addicted and there is nothing wrong with it except comparing yourself and their situations to your own. We have all done it and that is completely normal but next time you open any form of social media just remember that is the highlight reel of someone’s life. That is what they want you to see. It doesn’t mean their life is like that all the time and 9 times out of 10 it’s not. It’s okay to want what others have or aspire to be like them; it can be motivating sometimes but don’t get obsessed by it as they may be thinking the same about your life.
- This brings me on to the next point; NEVER take anything for granted! You may look at your life and situations and think its crap and not as good as some else’s but there are people out there dying to be in your position! You’re luckier than you think.
A healthy mind is archived by accepting yourself and your situation and focusing on your own life and not others. There are going to be some days where you will feel completely negative, it happens to everyone even the really positive people. You just have to keep reminding yourself of who you are and how far you have come. No one is like you and that is your power, so use it! Be yourself and don’t follow others, make your own path. Life is what you make of it so take little steps to a positive mind because honestly, it’s the best thing you will do! Doors will open and the things you were stuck on before will come clear.
