Autumnal Chats and How To Enjoy The Spooky Season…

I absolutely love this time of year. It’s time to pull out the big jumpers, onesies, fluffy socks and drink one too many hot chocolates. It’s also a time where I like to reflect and let go. I think autumn teaches us how beautiful it is to let things go. I find it hard because I love to give people one to many chances. I give too much of myself to people who don’t deserve it. Recently I’m learning to take things slow and be okay with letting go. Just breathe and go with the wind.

Are the people you are putting so much effort into giving back? You can make excuses for them but if they care they will show you. Don’t waste your energy on someone who doesn’t deserve it. You are better than that. “Light a few candles and burn a few bridges. Not everyone deserves to be a part of your journey.” Just think about that. Some only come for a little while but aren’t meant to stay.

Halloween is exciting! Whether you like to go all out and decorate your house-top to bottom or like me a few suttle decorations, it’s about feeling cosy and getting festive. Candles are a must. I love to flood my house with them to the point where it smells incredible! You don’t have to spend loads to achieve a cosy spooky environment. Your local supermarket will in no doubt sort you out with cute to out there decorations. Grab a pumpkin stick it outside your door and instantly you feel in that autumnal mood! Sweets for trick or treaters have to be a classic Haribo multipack but nowadays there are so many cool choices. Today I did some baking. I’m no Mary Berry and never will be, however, I found it fun to create some of your own spooky treats. I made some zombie brains Rice Krispie cakes. They are delicious! It’s basically your normal Rice Krispie recipe but with some festive spices like cinnamon, with red food colouring. Simple and really great to make with kids. You could give these to trick or treaters or simply eat them to yourself while watching a scary movie. I’m not a fan of scary movies, however, I do like ‘Monster House.’ It’s a kids film and it’s brilliant, has great morals in it too which I always love out of a film. So if you’re like me and hate horror check that one out.

I love cosy nights in; you don’t have to go out and dress up to feel festive. I love all the cute Halloween slogan tees you see in supermarkets or online. I think it’s a great way to get in the spirit but not dress up too much. Invite some friends round or family and make hot chocolates with whipped cream and marshmallows and have a lovely night in catching up, watching movies and answering the door to trick or treaters.

I hope you all have a great Halloween whatever you do. Always remember your worth and don’t let anyone change that. Stay true to yourself.

Lots of love and happiness
