I’m not going to pretend that I eat healthy all the time because I love a late night maccies or a dominos pizza! However, I try to eat healthily most of the time as it makes me feel good and some healthy food does taste great! I feel some of us, including myself at times get put off of the healthier option because we don’t think it will taste nice or it’s so expensive! Here’s what I love to eat on a good day…
Breakfast
Blueberry and Banana Oatmeal
As it’s October and we are going into the colder months I love to make this filling, heart-warming, tasty breakfast. Such a quick and easy recipe to whip up and fills you up until lunch.
Mango and Bergamot Tea
I always try to start my day with flavoured tea. It’s so refreshing. I love this mango one as it’s lovely and sweet.
Snack
Orange and Apple![IMG_4584[1]](https://alicewoodward.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/img_45841.jpg?w=225&h=300)
In between breakfast and lunch I start to get hungary and crave something sweet. I always try to turn to fruit as it’s super refreshing and has natural sugars. Plus trying to get that 5 a day is hard so adding fruit as a snack can boost that. At this point I would have had 4 of my 5 a day.
Orange Squash
I find drinking water hard. I always seem to forget it and never drink enough. I think we are all guilty for that. That’s why I love to have squash because I feel I am getting some water intake. Plus it’s a tastier way of drinking water. Throughout the day I will fill up my cup when I’m done. So mostly today I had squash.
Lunch
A Salad ![IMG_4512[1]](https://alicewoodward.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/img_45121.jpg?w=225&h=300)
Salads are so refreshing and light. I think we look at salads as being very bland but it’s what you add to one that makes it tasty. I like to use whatever we have left over in the fridge. So sometimes it can be a real mix of things. I love a chicken, ham salad with some scotch eggs as that’s what was in the fridge. I mix it up day-to-day depending what we have so it never gets boring. After such a filling breakfast it’s nice to have a lighter lunch.
Dinner
Pork Chop with Mixed Vegetables
A nice warming, comforting dinner. Sometimes the simplest of dinners can be the tastiest. ![IMG_4522[1]](https://alicewoodward.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/img_45221.jpg?w=225&h=300)
Dessert
Strawberry Jelly Pot
I love jelly! I always feel nostalgic when eating it as it reminds me being at kids parties with jelly and ice cream. I love the little jelly pots as they are no added sugar and taste beautiful! Finishes the day off perfectly!
That’s what I eat in a day. This was generally quite a healthy day and it was full of tasty things. I thin
k it’s getting out of your comfort zone with food and just having a go. Healthy food can be intimidating but it doesn’t have to be. Start off simple and see what you like. You may surprise yourself. Don’t limit yourself with food. It’s all about creating a good relationship with it. I don’t believe in diets. Eat what you fancy. Everything in moderation. I certainly don’t eat like this all the time. However, I find this tasty. I think it’s important to find healthy food that you like and create a good relationship with it. Don’t eat salad leaves and tomato’s if you don’t like them. It doesn’t have to be a chore. It can be what you want it to be.
Lots of love and happiness
