The past year has been absolutely crazy for all of us. Trying to find a new normal is hard. Some of us are doing loads with all this free time and others not as much. We shouldn’t beat ourselves up about any of it. All of us are just trying our best and whatever way that is for you that’s absolutely fine. Please don’t put too much pressure on yourself. It’s okay if you are laying in bed till 12 or if you are waking up for a run at 6 am. We are all dealing with this the best we can. Don’t compare with someone else. Both of those things are fine. I have been guilty at looking at others and thinking I should be doing more.
I have set myself goals this year but I’m not putting so much pressure on myself as I know that it’s going to be hard to motivate ourselves while in a pandemic. It’s scary times but we all need to pull together and keep safe.
My first goal is to do some DIY. There are lots of things that need doing around the house and I get a bit lazy and ask someone else to do it. However, I don’t want a man to do these things. I want to start learning for myself. So learning how to do basic DIY is a goal of mine.
I also want to read more. I have some beautiful books that I need to read. I’m currently reading ‘Mrs Hinch- This Is Me’ so far I’m absolutely loving it. I definitely feel I can relate. I’m not that great at fiction books but non-fiction is my favourite! I like reading about things and peoples lives.
I want to blog more. I say this all the time but I really want to create a lot of beautiful content, so if there is something you want to read or want me to talk about please let me know.
Exercise! Now I’m awful at exercise as I don’t enjoy it. I have tried so many different things from running to home workouts. I have found that I really enjoy yoga. I have bought a yoga mat and ball so hopefully this will give me a kick up the bum. Everyone is different and however you like to workout is absolutely fine. I am going on longer dog walks. My attention span is awful so 10-15 minutes is my kinda of time.
I want to actually have a savings account. I’m putting myself on a shopping ban because my spending habits are ridiculous. Deleting all your shopping apps is a good start.
I also want to eat healthier. I would love to be vegan one day but I’m not quite there. Just making small changes is absolutely fine. Like I drink plant based milk and cut down on my meat consumption.
These aren’t the biggest goals but they are personalised to me. Don’t set your expectations too high and please don’t beat yourself up if you don’t achieve them. We are in a pandemic so no one is doing lots. Just take your time.
