We all have things we don’t like about ourselves, that’s completely normal. However, we are all so special and what makes us different makes us unique. No one is you and that’s your power!
Our bodies are beautiful, magical and incredible! We need to value our bodies a lot more because they do incredible things. Our bodies fight for our lives each day, keeps a heart beating even when our hearts are broken. My sister is pregnant and watching her body change and prepare for a little baby is just one of the purest, fascinating and incredible things in life. How a woman’s body can provide a home for 9 months and even after the baby is born, the female body makes milk to feed. It’s just mind-blowing and beautiful!
We need to respect our bodies and nurture them. I’m not talking about giving yourself a pamper each night. Make sure you rest your body and have enough nights sleep. Feed your body nutrition and stay hydrated. I’m not saying don’t eat that pizza because my body needs that stuff, haha but just be more aware of yourself.
When you start to look after yourself a bit more and feed your body what it needs, you feel a lot more refreshed, relaxed and happier!
It doesn’t matter what size or shape you are, you are beautiful and you are enough! Media nowadays makes it so hard for us to accept ourselves. You don’t have to look beautiful like her because you are beautiful like you!
So what if your not a size 8 or your thighs touch. As long as you are healthy none of it matters. Everyone is so concerned about themselves to think about the way you look.
Everyone has rolls when they sit down, everyone’s thighs expand a little when they sit down. It’s normal. You never know what you look like in someone else’s eyes and that hit me a lot. We are so used to looking at ourselves in the mirror and seeing ourselves but we never see our genuine laughter when someone tells a joke or when your eyes light up when you talk about something you love. People fall in love with you and your natural self, not just your looks.
I have learned over time that you can’t love someone else until you love and accept yourself. I’m not saying you will love yourself all the time but accepting your flaws and realising that person loves you beyond your looks.
Don’t ever feel pressured to lose weight! Do it for you. Not to please someone or because someone tells you to. Do it to feel good and be healthy. You gotta do it for the right reasons. Your mental health is just as important as your physical health!
If you want to go to the gym, do it but there are other ways; Yoga, Zumba and fitness DVD’s that you can do at home. I have come to the realisation that I will never be one of those girls who wears really cute sportswear and goes to the gym each morning. That’s not really me and that’s okay. I’m more of a fitness DVD kinda girl mixed in with some yoga.
We are all different and how we look after ourselves will be personalised. You can’t look at someone else and think that that’s what you should be doing. Do what makes you feel good and do what your body is telling you. Don’t push yourself too hard to become something your not. Take it at your own pace and learn to love yourself. It will be the best thing you ever do.
Lots of love and happiness
