Four months of the year left.
It goes so quick yet so slow, and you look back and suddenly realise everything has changed. It seems like only yesterday I was wishing in the New Year, with hopes and dreams of what would be.
This year has made me grow and learn. I have gained strength and confidence within myself and in my beliefs. It’s been challenging yet eye-opening. This year has come with its challenges, but I have a confidence that I decide what my life will be. A type of resilience that the old me would be proud of.
Freedom begins within.
Old patterns are hard to break, but once you realise they are keeping you trapped, they no longer serve you. You break the chains of survival mode and what you once tolerated to keep yourself safe.
We all want love, but at what cost? If it costs you your peace, pride and self-worth, then it’s simply not worth it.
Let people be who they are, and you be true to who you are. True colours will show. But be strong enough to believe in yourself and what you want. You can change your mind whenever you want. What once seemed right six months ago can feel so wrong now, and that is the blessing of healing and growing.
Take the experiences for what they are, but let them go when they no longer fit your life now.
You will feel what is meant to be in your chest. I’m a strong believer in trusting your instincts.
Your mental health comes first. Don’t let it control your life, and for God’s sake, whatever you do, don’t stop taking your tablets if they are helping you. If you think something is wrong, then talk about it. Communication is key. Talking can help people understand.
Sometimes you feel so trapped in your own head that you don’t think anyone will understand. They may not understand completely, but the right people will try.
Do what feels right for you, no matter what that may look like to someone else. You don’t need anyone’s approval. You are grown, and you know yourself better than anyone. Believe in yourself.
Sometimes we can get wrapped up in the moment. The love bombing. The making you feel whole.
You are the only person who can make you feel whole.
Don’t rush into things; let things come to you. This is not me saying don’t try, but don’t let things consume you. It’s very hard. Emotions are strong and powerful, and they can feel physical.
Your mind is very powerful, but you can control it. Thoughts are just thoughts — you choose what you do with them. Remember, you are in the driving seat of your life. If you feel unhappy, then change direction. Change the plot.
Fresh starts.
Moving in somewhere new. Starting again. Feeling fresh.
It’s all well and good, and it helps, but nothing will change unless your mind changes.
Letting things and people be. Realising that we can contribute to our own unhappiness by clinging on to the past and our own expectations.
You have to be the one to decide to let it be and change. It’s not all magically going to go away just because you moved.
Stop chasing answers.
I wrote the next section one night when I felt particularly low. Sometimes you have to let that anger out, and my blog helps me process my emotions. The good, the bad and the ugly — I will always share.
I believe in what I write, and this next bit is very true.
If you are unsure about what you want, don’t use others to comfort yourself. You have to do the healing alone. Don’t break someone because you are hurt.
I have realised something.
I bring peace into everyone else’s life but my own.
I’m starting to question: why is that?
If I’m going to be so real with you all, I’m sad, I’m angry and I’m bitter.
Why?
Because I gave all of me just to be treated like that and left like I was nothing. It hurts.
Why come into someone’s life just to leave them like they were nothing? Just leave people alone! If you aren’t ready, then don’t begin anything in the first place.
The damage my heart has gone through, and I still remain kind and understanding. People say that’s strength and love.
I say it’s pure stupidity.
I hate the way I love sometimes because I never get it back in return.
Is it intimidating? Is it scary? Is it too real? What is it?
I would love to know, but I will never find out because they have already left and will only return when it’s too late.
What I want you to take from today’s post is this:
Be true to who you are.
Know that we can be wrong about things sometimes, but that’s okay. It doesn’t mean you are a bad person; it just means you are human and you are learning.
Mistakes are good if you learn from them.
Never be afraid to change the plot of your story.
There are four months left of 2026!
Do it for the plot twist.
Make yourself happy.
I wish these next few months bring you peace, happiness and more love for yourself.
Lots of love and happiness,
Alice xo
